About Jewels Under the Kilt
Back in 2010, Elisabeth Burrow and her partner moved to a farm just outside of Fergus, Ontario. Though many people thought this energetic young woman from the big city wouldn’t last in a small place like Fergus, she’s done so much more than last. She’s thrived. She took to farm life like she had been there her whole life, growing vegetables and fruit to share with her friends and family.
That was when Elisabeth knew that she wanted to create a sustainable life for her daughter with #upsyndrome. She knew that whatever she did, it would be a little different, a little unique – just like her. So Elisabeth and her partner got to work planting 150 nut and fruit trees on their little farm, and, with the help of some jars of Canadian maple syrup sent by their families, she created her patented process for roasting nuts with pure, dark maple syrup. Thus, Jewels Under the Kilt was born!
